About Us

Del Monte Fine Art has been a destination for collectors and admirers of Early California Impressionism since its inception.

Our name was derived from the original Del Monte Art Gallery located in the Hotel Del Monte built in 1880. The hotel burned twice; first in 1887 and again in 1924. This was the original gallery dedicated exclusively to showing works of the Early California artists.

We have a superior selection of historically significant, museum quality paintings focused on the period 1880-1950.

Our inventory includes artists such as Armin Hansen, Edgar Payne, Granville Redmond, August Gay, Seldon Gile, Marion and Elmer Wachtel, William Wendt, and Charles Rollo Peters.

In addition, we feature the highly sought after Contemporary Impressionist Jesse Powell.

Gallery owner Brent Gross has been a collector of Early California paintings since the early 1980’s.

Our professional and well-versed staff looks forward to assisting you.

We are located in downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea on 6th Ave. between Dolores and San Carlos next to Flaherty's Seafood Restaurant.
